A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark 13:24-32
'And then they will see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. V26
This week we marked the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Did you remember?
If you did, where were you? At work? Home? Shopping? Study? For two minutes, many of us set aside what we were doing to honour those who lost their lives through war.
There is something powerful about sharing silence in a public place. For a brief moment, we retreat from our individual concerns to share a common grief.
In this blog, we suggest retreating into 10 minutes of silence every day. We shift our eyes from the anxious cares of our life and look up. We experience the glory of the living God filling our life with power.
We reflect on the Word of God, and learn to build our life upon it. For ultimately everything else passes.
'Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.' v31
Let go, and look up.
5 minutes: READ the text slowly.
REFLECT on a phrase or word that struck you.
SPEAK to God about your thoughts.
5 minutes: LISTEN to God speak to you.
RESPOND with a prayer that feels right for you.
