10 Minute Daily Retreat - Read the Daily Gospel with a prayerful heart.
By Susanne Timpani (No.163)
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark 4:37-39
A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. [Jesus] … got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

There are times when life tosses us around like a toy sailboat in a wild ocean. If we could retreat into a safe place in the boat and ride out the storm, we may not feel so terrified.
The 10 Minute Daily Retreat celebrates its 1st Birthday this week. Prayer provides us with an opportunity to retreat from the storm of life for a few moments.
The Retreats are structured around the ancient Christian practice of prayer known as 'Lectio Divina', a Latin term, meaning "divine reading".
We take 5 minutes to Read and Reflect on God's Word, and 5 minutes to Listen to His voice and Respond with prayer.
To find out more about each writer, please click on one of their Reflections below. You can also find an opt-in tool to receive the reflections via email so that you never miss out.
On behalf of the writing team, I would like to thank all those who engage with these Reflections. If just one reader is blessed, we truly rejoice.
