Some years ago I came across an ancient Christian practice of prayer known as 'Lectio Divina', a Latin term, meaning "divine reading".

It encourages us to read a section of scripture slowly, with a ‘listening’ heart. The 10 Minute Daily Retreat draws parallels to this method of prayer.

In this blog, a team of writers publish a reflection which appears every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. The reflections are based on the Gospel of the day, as it appears in the Liturgical Calendar. This year we are following the Gospel of Mark.

On the other days, the Gospel reading of the day will appear, along with a reflection question.

If you would like to ensure you don't miss out on a reflections you can submit your email address in the box above.

Alternatively, you can download the App. onto your phone or device.

Described below are the suggested steps that make up the 10 Minute Daily Retreat.

5 minutes: READ the text slowly.
REFLECT on a phrase or word that struck you.
SPEAK to God about your thoughts.
5 minutes: LISTEN to God speak to you.
RESPOND with a prayer that feels right for you.

We have recently finished the 32 Day Christmas Prayer Challenge and are having a small break.

The reflections will continue on Sunday, January 11th, 2015.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Many Blessings,
