The Transforming Word
“So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
When God spoke, chaos became order; promises of hope were made with mankind; and the Word was made flesh.
How many times and in how many ways does God speak out to us in the scriptures: “Be not afraid” and “I am with you”? God is the ultimate encourager yet he also commands that we “Love one another” and “Go make disciples”.
God’s words are of promise and of hope, but they demand a response from us and if we respond, they are transformative.
Do we live in fear or do we live knowing God is with us as we try to respond to him?
Do we live in love and take that love to others?
Do the words that come forth from our mouths build up others or destroy?
Ask God for the grace to always speak in a manner that glorifies Him; that when our words go forth, whether words of encouragement or discipline, they would be spoken in love and achieve the Godly purposes required.
